I've had this happen a couple of times to me and it's probably one of the biggest reasons I keep the amount of anime I pick up limited.
Avoiding the obvious Naruto to Shippuden shift, I had really high hopes Fairy Tail after the whole Tower of Heaven arc buuuuuuuut it became one the most generic shonen manga and rose to my hate list. Sadly.
And the most recent offender and the one I'm going to name this after the S.A.O Affect. Those first 3 episodes had me so excited for a show that would handle itself slightly more maturely or at least seriously. But ARGH! Guess that's what I deserve that for getting hyped so quickly.
So I'm actually really wondering what other dissapointments people have come across. All hate is welcome by the way  |

NOT my least favorite but....
Hayate no Gotoku
I was in that Tsundere hunting stage after I finished all the popular ones. Nagi is alright but Hayate......is just too feminine and the idea of a parody? It's original and all but I think only Lucky Star can pull off a great parody. I haven't seen Gintama so dont rage me! I'm planning to this month though!!!

Clannad After Story......The ending actually really pissed me off to the point that I grind my teeth together thinking about it 2 years later
Recently, I wouldn't say I hate it but that would be Kokoro Connect.....After the first Arc I honestly thought it was going to be my all time favourite anime and then suddenly it was just kinda decent. Also the final 4 episodes aren't airing for some reason and are being released separately later on....just weird.

I'm sure there have been some, but unless it's recent, I've probably pushed it out of my mind. So, the only one I can think of right now is Total Eclipse. Even then though, I wouldn't say I hate it -- I'm still watching it. I just had really high expectations for it both as a harem and as an action show, and it has failed to meet my expectations as both a harem and an action show.

Sengoku Collection (Parallel Worlds Samurai) is the only one I can think of. It isn't even that I hate it, it's just...it started good but then got super-boring.
