Things/Ideas you'd like to see in Anime
|
I've been watching quite a bit of anime and sometimes it seems like some animes are exactly the same as the others. But every once and a while you get something original and new and it's amazing.
I've always wondered if anyone had any interesting or different ideas for a series. I personally have been curious to see an Anime about prison and kind of do a Shawshank sort of story. I always thought that would be different an interesting. How about you guys? Is there anything in Anime that you would like to see done differently for a change instead of the same old stuff? |

An anime from the perspective of either a lawyer, judge or just the general courtroom.
Anime version of Clerks with a different sense of humor. |

Prison is a great suggestion, something like OZ or Prison Break in anime form. More reality anime dealing with non high school themes would be good, maybe for early adult crowd age 25+

Also a Clerks Anime would be just genius. I like both of those. JListCharlie wrote: Prison is a great suggestion, something like OZ or Prison Break in anime form. I think a heist/mob anime based around large cast of characters with character interactions as the main thing explored. I also wouldn't mind an anime on the politics of ruling and being ruled, like and anime version of the Prince. It be like Code Geass, minus the high school, fan service, and mecha's. A lot more pessimistic and psychological.

A shonen type anime that doesn't have over the top fan service.
A anime type about bad guys trying to destroy the world in all stereo typical humor. |

They said i could become anything,so i became nothing.

A war anime where the two factions hate each others' guts, until a traitor appears from one of them with some horrifically horrible motive that makes the two enemies team up to fight against him/her. Then they would slowly look past their hatred and possibly join forces permanently. I like it when enemies become friends

really deep psychological stuff, like delusions, memory alter, inconsistencies here and there, and then a great ending that explains everything and makes you think

Well......a bit more quirkyness......like, a BIG bit more quirkyness. I could see it happen, a fun little show that's just happy and full of life, with stories and characters developed well enough to be enjoyable....just not overly serious. I mean, I DO like drama in a story, especially if it's done well, Fullmetal Alchemist being the example of the industry in my opinion..........but other anime that go that route just don't seem to work out as well. Same can said for comedies, like Sgt. Frog and Bobobo; even though I like Sgt. Frog, it's plot is basically that of a saturday morning cartoon villain trying to take over the world.
Why not have one big adventure alongside the quirkyness? I mean---sorry, I'm rambling. My point is, you can still have a great story along with enough wiggle room for quirkyness. I'm not anime DOESN'T do this, I just want to see MORE of it. Nothing more, nothing less. Edit: Sorry about that, my inner critic tends to ramble a bit. As for something original I like to see in anime, and this could be just me here, but I'd like to see more stuff along the Bigguts and Stinkers I was talking about. (those who don't know, check my entry on Your Anime Story or something like that on the forums, I forget what it's called.) It'd be a nice setback if things ever got too serious. I dunno, could be just me. Edit edit: The entry I'm talking about can found at the 'Creative' forums, under 'Fan Fiction', under 'Create your own Anime and/or Story.' You can find it there, where ALL my Stinker talk makes sense in this post. Thanx 4 Reading! |

Basically a new Serial Experiments Lain or Welcome to the NHK! Anything with deeper meaning that transcends the series. Maybe I'm just a little masochistic, but I have a special respect for series which are realistic, existentialist or emotionally powerful enough to induce Tetris Syndrome and start affecting my view of reality. |

I'd like to see a Spy anime, the protagonist would do all kinds of espionage whether it be intelligence gathering, assassinations, or infiltration. As someone else said, a heist anime would be interesting in the vein of the Ocean's movies
Also we haven't seen an anime with a spaghetti western influence in a while. Trigun is a little to on the nose but Cowboy Bebop had the western influence Also more of a general anime wish but more anime that has an adult cast with a mature tone and not teenagers/tweens . Fate/Zero and Psycho Pass are rare gems in which I would love to see more anime follow suit |
