The Love of a Soldier
Adversity arises, hatred, calamity and all,
A young man’s determination; a fire deep inside,
Recruitment beckons, who will answer the call?
To selflessly give up his dreams and desires, and fight for his country’s pride.
War begins to rage upon a distant shore,
To say goodbye to those he loves and everyone held dear,
Countries reflect and act upon what they really stand for,
He is not a boy anymore, but a man who shows no fear.
Among the living, warrior cries are heard, while the dead silently lay amidst a sea of blood upon the battlefield,
With guns ablaze and devastation all around, the young man is struck to his core,
While bombs explode, he acts without hesitation to protect his fellow comrade, and uses himself as a shield,
A knowing that he will never come home- the greatest horror of war…
The remains scattered on the ground of the soldier slain,
Will his sacrifice be remembered, or will it be in vain…?

I wrote this the other day. Called "Silence Bothers Me," but it needs a better title, so I'll just say it's untitled >_> :
In silence lies a mystery
A lack of control
Brings to light a haunting question,
"Should I stay or go?"
Your actions prove fruitless
When I'm pawing at my phone
As I'm quivering in anxiousness
Your need to be alone.
Am I a dope?
A mistake
A game of take but never give
As if you're picking at your teeth
While, here, I ponder why I live.
I want to strap you to my core.
We jump, we drift
We drop, then SOAR
To separate us from distractions
Yet, it's me your heart ignores.
When I talk, we never sleep.
I bet I make it hard to dream.
With all my questions, tries, and burdens
Don't have time to close these curtains.
Talk to me, keep faith alive
Then we shall see just who's deprived.
