All your hard work and its gone?

There is a valid reason why I preach pragmatism. Don't invest into something unless you're positive you can work out any obstructions or any variables that may offset youw work.

Do something on the computer? Save it on both my USBs so If I lose one, I'm still good. nothing like that hasn't happened to me awhile now, Feeling upset is totally normal for me, so I can only imagine what I'd be if I lost something important.

from my first time, i learn how to procrastinate writing essay which i would get A's in.

Yeah, I've always been an obsessive file-saver, but I remember one time where I didn't backup a very important assignment for one of my Capstone courses, which then got corrupted beyond recovery on the day before the assignment was due. Needless to say, I was swearing at my computer. Then I calmed down (a little) and did the entire assignment. And, somehow, I still managed to get most of the points for the assignment.
But, honestly, it makes me feel so glad that all of my current lab work is backed-up on a nightly basis (even though I have the silly little habit of pressing [Ctrl+x+s] after every little modification I make to an Emacs file ).

I played this game called dead island.. I had the entire day off work and school so I played for like 18 hours (I know I'm bored >.<)

And after 3 days, I played it again, only to find that it only saved the first 2 hours of my game.. Well I'm glad it was just a game, but I felt depressed that the game is now on my storage room, collecting dust..

I had the monthly report on the new project at work on my home computer.
This was a 6 hour job gone in one lightening strike that took out 2 computers, a new 3D theature setup.

I had to do it all over at work in the middle of the night. Had to be ready at 10 am.
At least the data was still on the server.

Not the first time it happened to me.

Now all expensive hardware is on a surge protector. I advise all to getr on

I already do and I've been through at least around two so far in regards to my PC and other connected equipment at least over a three year period no thanks to surge/spikes but survived. The other two kicked the bucket in regards to there protection though, but small price to pay.

Might also add that a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) is a good way to go too just in case of a power cut, some might be expensive, but it'll give you enough time to power down a machine without losing anything.

The only thing that had happened to me was when I had Windows Vista, problem being was that I thought I had lost everything on one of my hard drives as all the data vanished, but found out that NTFS had caused a bug that wiped out the NTFS security information on the drive and made it look like it was empty.

Anyway when that had happened, I was absolutely gutted and furious that I had thought I had lost everything, but managed to get everything back by rebuilding the drives NTFS security information and took me about two hours to do it.

Long story short, it was one of those rare bugs in Vista's NTFS (just hope Windows 7 doesn't have it).

Made my project on the computer. Was about to save. Restart. Redo. Restart.

Complaining doesn't do anything. Need a laptop.

I would just, uh...Rage, I guess. And no, not the video game. Maybe go watch a funny video to unwind, make some hot cocoa, and re-do it all over again.

Kinda like the time I put 110 hours into Final Fantasy 12 (Hey, I just left it on and came back to it randomly), and then the power went out. For a second. While that was my fault, it's cool. I just re-played it. I was failing anyways...

That happened to me because of a virus named Rouge. it wasnt nice. I never do work over again either. the school and government is so idiotic to let that happen.
Posted 10/21/11
Oh, gosh! Happened to me plenty of times! I just re-do the whole entire thing from scratch while bitching at the computer and rubbing my head as if I really did have a headache.
