What would you do or feel if after working on something all day and something happen to it were its just gone?
Lets say you were doing something online for school, job or here on CR and work hard on your online project and you go to save and your computer starts acting up and your hard work did not save and most of it is gone. What or how you feel?
Has it happen to you before? What did you do the 1st time it happen?

This happens all the time. I usually get pissed, and have to wait like 12 hours to get motivated to do it again.

I drew a huge project for a friend's birthday. It took me a while, since I put in so much detail and characters. Then stupidly I left my finished project near my window. It rained that night, and the window was open. I had completely forgotten all about it, the next morning when I saw it I was devastated. All my hard work had gone down the drain. It was drenched. Not only did I lose my artwork, but I had lost the gift I wanted to give him, along with my sketch book which had other pieces in it as well. I tried starting over, but I just couldn't continue. I was real angry at myself. Stupid rain..

I had the monthly report on the new project at work on my home computer.
This was a 6 hour job gone in one lightening strike that took out 2 computers, a new 3D theature setup.

I had to do it all over at work in the middle of the night. Had to be ready at 10 am.
At least the data was still on the server.

Not the first time it happened to me.

Now all expensive hardware is on a surge protector. I advise all to getr one.

wow that really suck sorry that happen to you and after all your hard work hate the rain As for me my hard work I was working on today on cr was a group and was making a topic it had a lot of info and lot of work took me most of the day and soon as I go to save computer acts up freezes on me and some how its mostly gone so try to redo it but like you couldn't get my self to do all that again

Get frustrated for a few minutes, have a smoke, shower, and then head out for a drink. Start working on it again the following day.

I do this without the smoking bit. I also think it's a good chance to improve on the work.

Back in school I was finishing up a 3,000 word essay. Computer froze and I forgot to save after adding the last 1,500 words to it. I screamed.

There is a reason why there are lots of messages all over (at school when I went, the actual word program itself etc) telling to save often. I didn't always bother to listen though because my computer rarely had those types of errors. It was no surprise that while typing up a report for school it did eventually happen. I just tried to keep as much of it in my head as possible and began typing again right away and eventually remade it. I would be very frustrated if it was a project that was not on the computer though. A lot more work would have gone into it and a lot more work would be needed to redo it.

I hate when working hard on something online and go to save and its all gone and have to redo its so annoying it will bother me for a day knowing how much work and hrs i put into my project and was gone to the computer messing up and having to redo it suck a lot when it does happen

the kind of feeling where you want to punch/throw your computer (but won't because :V)
so you just breathe in, breathe out, curse out loud, go shout at your younger brother or something...
and after hating everyone and everything (including yourself), get to work again, still hating the world.

Upset, but hopefully check and see if I made a back up copy of the project as well. You have to do that just in case something goes wrong with the original.
