ooo nice one to add...

also... where's ore-tachi? AT-X in Japan has already aired it so it's not like there was a production delay with that one... guess we'll have to wait and see.

Sorry, due to licensing limitations, blah blah blah...

*sigh*

Guess I'll be cancelling my subscription this season then, nothing decent for us Brits to watch... unless that last unannounced show ends up being C? (ohhh the irony if turns out it is, but yet again our money is not good enough for us to watch it)

i don't know if it's illegal or not but can't use a american proxy to watch some shows say like with fire fox or something? I mean i really don't know what to suggest to guys since that does suck and that's what I do when I travel around with my laptop.

heh steins gate not allowed in the uk - well f--- them. It's their lost money not mine. Roll on fansubs.

Basically we don't get drama, films, or any of the decent shows, what's the point in offering the service at all?

And I'd been thinking how well crunchy roll was coming along, I'm sure this is down to retarded Japanese companies thinking they can milk us via some alternative method, guess what they're just blowing away what little market's left for paying for anime.

So... how do you cancel your membership?

Pretty sure that isn't legal.

For some reason these JP companies don't want their stuff streamed over there, or can't come to an agreement with CR or want to use another company at a later date. So if you want an explanation as to their reasoning... this is the logic used in the recent Fractale scandal... Remember... this is also the same anime producing country that said they have illegal file sharing over there under control, sure... and ordered funimation to do the same or they wouldn't get fractale back... so funimation caves, launches a lawsuit to appease them, they get their streaming back, drop the lawsuit, everyone is happy sitting around a campfire, and only 1 group stopped subbing fractale... and the only ones to lose revenue and respect that day were the fractale committee and funimation.

So yes is Japan probably losing money over not streaming these shows in the UK? Sure... but with the above thought process, does it really seem to matter to them?

well hmm i mean your not really downloading it illegally and you have payed for services to use, i find that to be different than just direct downloads of web rips and fan subs. This is a personal opinion though then again i use fan translations for visual novels i ordered from Japan, i showed my support for the product I just want to use it now, or that's they way i see it. Yes I do understand what you mean on the fractal front but the fact is people where downloading illegal rips from funamations stream, not using a proxy just to watch it, why some one would want to download a 360p rip though in this day in time is beyond me though. I think cr tried to get some of theses shows but they also have to work out deals with the partners in the U.K. as well and if they didn't agree to it then there is nothing cr can really do.

Wow, one simulcast title blocked out of twelve, and its "don't get any decent shows". I could see someone from the Philippines or Uganda with a beef, but "Only 11 out of 12, I'm out of here" seems a bit "the glass is 1/12th empty" rather than "the glass is 11/12th full".

Sure, people in the UK don't get drama or Chinese live action films, but the answer to that would be "don't sign up for a drama membership", problem solved.

OMG I love you Crunchyroll! (plus the anime companies :P) This Spring Simulcast Lineup is so awesome!

UPDATE: Oh wait, except for this anime :(.

"Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region."

Please try and get this in the UK!!!
This seems is likely to be one of the ones licensed for the new AnimeOnDemand UK site.

muvejit wrote: wow best lineup ever, all title launches are available in my country for once instead of like only 40% of the lineup.
finally i get for what i pay for
Which country are you in ~ the only ones with 100% are US, Canada, Netherlands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Brazil, and all of them were 80%+ last season.

Best line-up ever, and all available in the Nethlands too. Couldn't have wished for more (except drama outside the US maybe). Thanks Crunchyroll and all the other anime companies involved into making this happen.

We had crunchy roll why would we have wanted some over priced, invariably rubbish low quality garbage bag of a site instead, o well it can go the way of those anime dvd companies that tried to charge £20 for 3 episodes of anime when the pound was strong.

O well, sod the lot of them.

Wow the http://www.anime-on-demand.com/ site is amazing, it's like it's 2000AD all over again and even slower than a 52kbps modem, yeah I know where I'll be going from now on.

Maybe it's more like card counting, and it's just frowned upon? I did a google search and didn't find anything saying you'll get arrested but I'm sure there is a reason region restrictions exist and there isn't a part on CR explaining how to get around it if it was perfectly fine.

They were downloading far more than illegal rips of funimations stream, actually why anyone would want to download that is far beyond me, as you said. The reason I personally don't like funimation is their lack of video quality, and while I won't go incriminating myself here, I still do support them in that I do stream the videos from their site, but I don't watch it... and nothing remains on my hard drive after I have managed to see the show... I'll leave it at that... that lawsuit was about far more than horriblesubs ripping the funi stream... which is why a group that didn't use the funi stream as a source and made their own translations stopped subbing... actually that lawsuit wasn't even about fractale at all, it was about One Piece... lol.

I used the fractale piece mainly to illustrate how strange their thinking can be... I'm sure CR would love to stream to the whole world... but on the other side there have to be these conditions and rules and boundaries setup, and sometimes, for nothing, as in the fractale case.

I'd also like to re-ask whats going on with Ore-tachi... that one looks interesting and its aired in Japan, no earthquake delays or anything, but TBA here...

Shame this isn't for the UK. Looks good. But we have every other show. Mind, it seems strange how it's possible to get the rights for Finland and Denmark but not the UK. But oh well.
